Monaco Grand Prix and Yacht Show: getting there and eating well

Twice a year Monaco welcomes huge crowds: the Formula 1 Grand Prix in late spring and the Monaco Yacht Show in September. Here is how to plan your trip with GoGo.

Monaco Grand Prix and Yacht Show: getting there and eating well

The two big events

  • Monaco Grand Prix: the Formula 1 race runs through the streets of Monte-Carlo and La Condamine, usually in late May or early June. Many roads are closed for several days.
  • Monaco Yacht Show: one of the world's leading superyacht shows, held each September at Port Hercule.

Always check the official event websites for exact dates, road closures and access rules.

Getting to Monaco with GoGo

Book a GoGo ride from Nice airport or anywhere on the Côte d'Azur, and your driver can drop you off in Monaco. During events, closed roads mean your driver may drop you at the nearest accessible point. Book in advance and allow extra time: traffic on the coast roads is heavy on race and show days.

GoGo drivers can drop customers off in Monaco, but pick-ups inside Monaco are not available. See rides to Monaco

Planning your return

  • Book your return ride from a nearby French town such as Beausoleil or Cap-d'Ail, where available
  • Or take the regional train from Monaco-Monte-Carlo station towards Nice or Menton
  • Leave a little before or after the crowds to save time

Eating during the events

Restaurants are packed on event days. With GoGo you can order food in Monaco to your hotel, apartment or yacht berth, where delivery is possible. Expect longer delivery times near closed roads and order earlier than usual.

Where to stay

Hotels in Monaco fill up months ahead. Book a hotel in Monaco early, or stay in Nice, Antibes or Cannes and ride in.
